Kevin Thonhofer (born May 4, 1988 in Bruck an der Mur ) is an Austrian football player on the position of midfielder .

He is the son of the former Sturm Graz player Heinz Thonhofer , who is the coach of SVL Flavia Solva .

Career

youth

Thonhofer began his active career as a football player in 1995 with SC Pernegg from the municipality of Pernegg on the Mur in today's Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district . With the Perneggern he went through all the junior teams and secured a place in the club's combat team in the sixth class Styrian Lower League North B before moving to SC Mürzhofen . At the beginning of 2008, Thonhofer moved to SC Mürzhofen from the small Upper Styrian community of Mürzhofen after almost 13 years with his parent club, where he was awarded to DSV Leoben from 2003 to 2004 .

Club career

At SC Mürzhofen , he immediately made the leap into the first combat team to play in the fifth-class Styrian Oberliga Nord . In the middle of the year, Thonhofer switched to DSV Leoben in the first league , the second highest professional game class in Austrian football. His loan contract was set for one year.

On March 28, 2009 Thonhofer made his debut as a professional footballer when he came on in the 87th minute of the 1: 2 home defeat against FC Wacker Innsbruck for Martin Petkov, who also made his professional debut that day . Until he returned to SC Mürzhofen , he made two more appearances in the first division.

His stay at the club from Mürzhofen lasted just under a month before he signed a contract with DSV Leoben in mid-July 2009, which had meanwhile been relegated due to bankruptcy, in the third-class Regionalliga Mitte.

For the 2010/11 season he joined the German third division club VfR Aalen . As a result, he was injured until the winter break before his contract was terminated again in the spring of 2011.

He then ended his professional career and played in the amateur field for the clubs Flavia Solva, SV Gaflenz, SKU Amstetten, SVU Mauer.

illness

At the end of 2017 he was seriously ill with chronic fatigue syndrome and had to give up his sporting and professional career. Since then he has been committed to the non-profit organizations CFS-Aid Austria and Millions Missing to promote research, recognition and education.
