Until the end of 2014, Mürzhofen was an independent municipality with 959 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in the Austrian state of Styria ( judicial district Mürzzuschlag and in the political district Bruck-Mürzzuschlag ). As part of the structural reform of the municipality in Styria , it was incorporated into the municipality of Kindberg from January 1, 2015 together with the former municipality of Allerheiligen im Mürz Valley .
geography
Mürzhofen is located in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district in northeastern Styria and is also known as the center of Styria. The neighboring municipalities of Mürzhofen are Allerheiligen in Mürz Valley , Sankt Marein in Mürz Valley and Sankt Lorenzen in Mürz Valley .
There are no other cadastral communities apart from Mürzhofen.
history
The first documentary mention was made around 1140 as Muerzehoven , but a royal farm yard already existed during the Carolingian and Ottonian times . The Stubenbergs were the landlords for centuries. The peasants were liberated after the revolutionary turmoil in 1848. The local community was established as an autonomous body in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community became part of the Reichsgau Steiermark, from 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

coat of arms was awarded with effect from October 1, 2005.
Description of coat of arms: Divided from red to black by a silver five-pointed cloverleaf crown, the first and fifth points of which are halved by the edge of the shield and whose hoop is undulating at the bottom.

traffic
The Allerheiligen-Mürzal stop is on the southern railway . Numerous regional trains stop in the direction of Bruck an der Mur or Mürzzuschlag . However, trains to Leoben , Friesach , Neumarkt , Unzmarkt , Graz and Spielfeld-Straß are often extended.
Sports
The football club Mürzhofen operates in addition to the combat team and the reserve, a U15 (game community with punching ), a U13, a U11, a U9 and a U8. The local tennis club "TC Mürzhofen" currently provides a men's team, a women's team and a U13 youth team.
