Kevin Yebo (born March 14, 1996 in Bonn ) is a German basketball player who has been in the squad of the second division Eisbären Bremerhaven since 2020 .
Player career
Yebo played in his youth for the sports club Sechtem 1971 , in the 2013/14 season he was part of the U16 team of TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen and competed in the youth basketball league with the works club . After playing for the third men's team from Sechtem in 2014/15, Yebo made the leap to the 1st men of the SG (then 1st regional league) in summer 2015.
In November 2015 he moved from Sechtem to another regional league club, VfR Limburg. At the end of the 2015/16 season, he was named the best newcomer to the Southwest Season of the 1st Regional League by the internet service eurobasket.com , and he received another award in the 2016/17 season: eurobasket.com once again called Yebo into the "top five" the best German player in the Regionalliga Südwest, after posting an average of 16.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per encounter in 26 appearances over the course of the season.
In July 2017, Yebo was signed by the Ehingen / Urspring syndicate and in this way managed his personal promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . In 30 games of the 2017/18 season, in which he missed the athletic class stay in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA with Ehingen, Yebo achieved a point average of 10.9 and was third in the league with an average of 7.4 rebounds per match Rank. Since Cologne withdrew voluntarily, Ehingen was subsequently placed on a non-relegation place. In August 2018, Yebo won in the men's competition class alongside Dennis Schröder , Femi Oladipo and Ray Williams as Team Der Stamm, the German championship in the basketball variant "3-on-3" .
With 15.5 points per game, Yebo was the best German scorer in the 2nd Bundesliga ProA in the 2018/19 season. His 9.8 rebounds per encounter were the highest in the league. At the beginning of July 2019, he was signed by the Bundesliga promoted Hamburg Towers . In the Hanseatic League he was used in 14 Bundesliga games and averaged 3.4 points and 2.5 rebounds. Yebo was called up in the summer of 2020 in the national team in "3-on-3". At club level he decided to go back to the second division, in August 2020 he was signed by the Eisbären Bremerhaven .
