Khalil El-Maaoui
Khalil El-Maaoui (born September 12, 1988 in La Marsa ) is a Tunisian weightlifter .
Career
El-Maaoui became Junior World Champion in June 2008. Shortly thereafter, he participated in the Olympics in part in Beijing. There he was seventh in the snatch in the class up to 56 kg, but he did not succeed in a valid attempt in pushing. In 2009 he won the gold medal at the Mediterranean Games. At the world championships in the same year he was fifth in a duel and won bronze in the snatch. At the 2010 World Championships , he again reached fifth place. In 2011 he was third in the snatch at the World Championships . However, he was tested positive for methylhexanamine during the doping control and banned for six months. In 2012 he took part in his second Olympic Games in London . There he was second in the bantamweight snatch, but had no attempt in the push. He won the gold medal at the 2013 Mediterranean Games . In autumn, however, he was tested positive for dehydrochloromethyltestosterone during a training control and was banned for four years.
