Kies is a German modern homeland film by Douglas Wolfsperger from 1986 .

action

The fraudster Felix drives a stolen convertible across the Swiss border to Germany. Due to a funeral, a country road is temporarily closed on his way. During the forced break he meets Ella Schäufele, the daughter of a wealthy gravel works owner, and the two of them get together. They get married soon afterwards. But the marriage is going differently than planned, because Felix finds himself more like an extra in his new life. He seeks support from the landlady Lilly, which is why he now has to choose between her and Ella.

Richard Gandor came up with the idea for the film. Douglas Wolfsperger worked as a screenwriter together with Tobias Engelsing. Wolfsperger also directed. The film was shot in the Lake Constance area , in the town of Radolfzell on Lake Constance and on the islands of Höri and Reichenau .

The premiere took place on November 5, 1987 in Constance .
