Kim Chunsu (born November 25, 1922 in Ch'ungmu , Kyŏngsangnam-do , † November 29, 2004 ) was a South Korean poet .

Life

Kim Chunsu was born on November 25, 1922 in Ch'ungmu , South Kyŏngsang Province . He studied at the Faculty of Art at Nihon University , but was de-registered in 1942 . He worked as a teacher at various Korean high schools and as a professor at Masan University , Kyŏngbuk National University and Yŏngnam University .

In 1945 , with the help of other writers, he founded the T'ongyŏng Cultural Association (통영 문화 협회) and in 1946 was involved in founding the magazine Romantik (낭만파). He was elected a MP to the National Assembly in 1981 and was an active member of the Korean Academy of Arts . Before he began to publish his own poems in 1948 , he had already been active in the publishing world for several years.
