Kim Falkenberg (born April 10, 1988 in Engelskirchen ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

In the club

Kim Falkenberg moved from SSV Bergneustadt to Bayer 04 Leverkusen's youth division in 2000 . Here he became German A youth champion in 2007. Despite numerous offers from various regional and second division teams, Falkenberg initially stayed with Bayer Leverkusen and joined Bayer 04's second team in the second half of the 2006/07 season. Falkenberg played eight games and established himself in Ulf Kirsten's squad for the coming season . For the second division season 2008/09 the defender finally signed a one-year contract with Rot-Weiß Oberhausen , where he made his debut on August 17, 2008 against TuS Koblenz .

Since the 2009/10 season , Falkenberg played for SpVgg Greuther Fürth . After two years in Fürth, he moved to his home in the Rhineland for the 2011/12 season and was hired by league rivals Alemannia Aachen . With the Alemannia, however, he rose as the table penultimate from the second division .

Falkenberg then moved to the second division SV Sandhausen for the 2012/13 season , where he signed a two-year contract until June 30, 2014. However, this contract was canceled after a year.

Falkenberg was presented on June 20, 2013 as a new addition to 1. FC Saarbrücken . He received a contract there until June 30, 2015. After the descent of the Saarbrücken, Falkenberg moved to VfL Osnabrück after just one season . There he tore a cruciate ligament in preparation for the 2016 season and had to take a break for several months. He stayed in Osnabrück until the 2017/18 season and ended his career as a football player after the season.

National team

Falkenberg played from the U-16 selection for all U-national teams in Germany and took part in the U-19 European Championship in Austria in 2007 . There he failed with his team in the semifinals to Greece.
