Yesung (born August 24, 1984 in Seoul as Kim Jong-woon ) is a South Korean singer and actor and a member of the boy group Super Junior , as well as in their subgroup Super Junior KRY and Super Junior-H .
Life
When Yesung was ten years old, his family moved to Cheonam . After winning a television singing competition for the first time in 1999, he was signed to SM Entertainment two years later .
In November 2005 he made his debut after four years of preparation as one of twelve members in the boy band Super Junior . In addition to his activities with Super Junior, from September 2006 to September 2007 he had his own radio show MIRACLE for you . In November 2006 he formed with his bandmates Ryeowook and Kyuhyun subgroup Super Junior KRY , which specializes in ballads. In 2007, Yesung made his actor debut in the film Attack of the Pin-up Boys . A year later he became a member of Super Junior-H , another subgroup, which was dissolved that same year.
In 2008 Yesung released solo songs for the first time. He was heard on various soundtracks. In 2010 he took on a role in a musical. In the same year he became a presenter of a television show with Leeteuk .
From February to June 2011 he replaced his bandmate Eunhyuk on the radio show Kiss the Star . In late June 2011, he left the show and was replaced by Eunhyuk. That same year, Yesung played with Immortal Songs by reinterpreting songs by other artists.
In addition to his activities, he and his brother opened his Cafe Mouse Rabbit Coffee on November 11, 2012. At the end of the year, the band Super Junior KRY was reactivated and went on tour. The comeback single reached number 2 in the single charts. In February 2013, Yesung starred in the drama Gray Paper . At a Super Junior concert he announced that he will shortly be drafted into the South Korean army service and will therefore not take part in the further tour. He was finally drafted in May 2013.
On May 6, 2015, he was released from military service. Almost three weeks later he made his stage comeback with the Super Junior KRY tour. In addition, he also took up his activities at Super Junior; so he made his comeback in the main group on the album Devil . In November 2015 he made his comeback as an actor in another drama. In April 2016 Yesung released his first solo EP Here I Am .
