Career

Career start in Denmark and stay in England

Olsen started playing football at Ikast KFUM . He came to FC Midtjylland in 2002 via Ikast FS and Holstebro BK . On July 28 of the year he made his debut under coach Troels Bech for the club in the first-class Superliga when he was substituted on in the 2-0 away defeat against Odense BK for Mogens Laursen . Although he was only used irregularly in the following year and a half and was only in the starting eleven in two games, foreign clubs were interested in a commitment. In January 2004 he stayed at Fortuna Düsseldorf for a trial training session. A short time later he joined the English third division club Sheffield Wednesday . In the Football League One Olsen ran under coach Chris Turner in ten games, but could not prevail and finished with the team in 16th place in the table. In the following season he was initially not used and after the newly signed coach Paul Sturrock announced in September without planning him, he decided to change clubs.

Olsen returned to Denmark and ran from March 2005 on for Silkeborg IF . By the end of the season he established himself as a regular goalscorer in the club's regular formation, which he scored with eleven goals in 15 league games to keep it up. During the summer break in July 2005, he injured his cruciate ligament . He then fell out for almost the entire 2005/06 season , but returned as a successful goalscorer at the end of April 2006 and scored three goals in the final five games of the season. In the following season he acted unhappy and lost, as he only scored four goals this season, his regular place in the attack. At the end of the season he had to accept relegation with the team around Simon Nagel , Steven Lustü and Jens Berthel Askou as bottom of the table. Nevertheless, he extended his contract to 2010 in the summer of 2007.

Change to Sweden and return to Denmark

At the end of June 2008, Olsen moved on loan to the Swedish club Örebro SK in Allsvenskan until the end of the year . In 15 games for the club, he scored eight goals and placed seven league goals ahead of Robin Staaf at the top of the club's internal goalscorer list. After the successful half series, he finally moved to the club from Närke and signed a three-year contract in November. In the 2009 season , with eight goals this season in front of Roni Porokara and Fredrik Nordback, he again prevailed as the club's best internal goalscorer and led the club to sixth place in the table.

In the first half of the 2010 season , Olsen was one of the regulars at ÖSK and helped establish the club in the upper third of the table. For family reasons, however, he left the club in the summer and returned to Denmark, where he joined the second division club Vejle BK . Even after the club merged with Kolding FC to form Vejle Boldklub Kolding , he remained loyal to the club. After persistent problems with his hip, he announced his retirement in spring 2012.
