Kim Yi-yong (born September 20, 1973 in Gangwon-do Province ) is a South Korean marathon runner .

In 1994 he finished eighth in the Dong-A marathon , in 1995 seventh. In 1996 he qualified in the same race as fifth for the Olympic Games in Atlanta , where he was twelfth.

1997 was followed by a seventh place in the Dong-A marathon, a second in the Chuncheon marathon . In 1998 he won the Dong A Marathon, in 1999 he finished fourth in the Rotterdam Marathon with his personal best of 2:07:49 h , and in 2000 he was ninth in the Chicago Marathon .

The following year he qualified sixth at the Dong-A Marathon (now Seoul International Marathon ) for the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton, where he came in 54th place. In 2002 he finished eighth in the JoongAng Seoul Marathon .

At the 2003 World Cup in Paris / Saint-Denis, he did not reach the goal. After finishing fifth in the JoongAng Seoul Marathon in 2003 and sixth in 2004, he won the Jeonju-Gunsan Marathon in 2005 , but had to give up again at the World Championships in Helsinki . In 2006 he finished fifth in the Tokyo International Men's Marathon , defended his title in Jeonju and won the national games.

In 2008 he was nominated for the Olympic Games in Beijing after a seventh place in the Seoul International Marathon , in which he finished in 50th place. In 2010 he came in 15th place in the Daegu Marathon .
