Kimi no Suizō o Tabetai ( Japanese 君 の 膵 臓 を た べ た い ), also known internationally as Let Me Eat Your Pancreas , is a real- life film released in 2017 by Shō Tsukikawa based on the novel of the same name by the Japanese writer Yoru Sumino .

action

The story is from the perspective of the high school teacher Haruki Shiga, who was given the task of dissolving the no longer maintained school library . Shiga receives support from several students, including the withdrawn bookworm Kuriyama. Shiga starts talking to him and it turns out that he himself - as a former student - had once divided and organized the library into various departments. He had the help of Sakura, a former classmate who was still haunted in his mind.

While Shiga and Kuriyama are sorting the books and packing them into boxes, he learns the story of his teacher's high school days, which are mainly about Sakura. Twelve years ago, his teacher accidentally saw her diary, which revealed that Sakura was suffering from a genetically caused incurable disease of the pancreas and, according to the doctors, had less than a year to live. She had kept this a secret from her classmates, even from her best friend Kyōko. Since Shiga had found out about this by chance, he was immediately involved in her plans for the future by Sakura.
