Gross Flotow Church
The Groß Flotow Church is a listed church building in Groß Flotow , a district of the city of Penzlin in the Mecklenburg Lake District ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ).
History and architecture
The rectangular, flat-roofed building was probably built at the beginning of the 14th century. The outer walls stand over a carefully crafted field stone base. The south portal with a quarter bar profile is stepped. The building was largely destroyed by a lightning strike. During the renovation of the building from 1894 to 1895, the choir was changed inside by adding ancillary buildings and outside by reducing the height of the eaves. The rectangular choir is slightly drawn in. The walls in the choir are divided by three stained glass windows. The west tower , shifted to the south, was added; Windows, eaves and gables were renewed.

Groß Flotow has been a subsidiary church of Groß Lukow (today also a district of Penzlin) since 1713 and today, along with seven other churches, belongs to the parish of Penzlin - Mölln, church region of Stavenhagen of the Neustrelitz provost in the Mecklenburg parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany .
