The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Heukewalde is in Heukewalde , a municipality in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia . The parish Heukewalde belongs to the parish Thonhausen in the church district Altenburger Land of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The hall church was built in 1766 using different parts of the previous building. It has a retracted choir tower , which was built between 1708 and 1710. After a fire, the structure of the church tower was changed. He received an eight-page essay covered by a curly slate-covered hood . The interior was also redesigned. In 1766 the church painter Johann Peter Weber from Blankenhain gave the church the artistic design.

The first organ was built in 1754 by Christian Ernst Friederici . Today's organ has 11 registers , divided into 2 manuals and a pedal , and was built by Jehmlich Orgelbau in 1935 .
