location

The church is located in the Sipailovo district, in a residential area, at the intersection of the streets B. Bikbaya and Juri-Gagarin-Straße in Oktyabrsky-Stadtrajon of Ufa, the capital of the Russian republic of Bashkortostan .

history

The Church of St. Matrona of Moscow was built on September 29, 2011 as part of the “Build seven churches in seven cities in one day” campaign. On this day the Orthodox solemnity for the birth of the Most Holy Mother of God took place. On the same day, six more churches were built and consecrated in Russia , Ukraine and Belarus . The new churches were built in three phases in different cities: Moscow (capital of Russia), Kiev (capital of Ukraine), Minsk (capital of Belarus), Ufa , Tver , Sochi , Kaliningrad , Yekaterinburg , Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk , Irkutsk and Kemerovo . This old tradition dates back to the 16th century and is intended to symbolize the ties between the Russians and their Russian Orthodox Church with the “everyday” church building .
