The Rablinghausen Church is a Protestant parish church in Bremen in the Woltmershausen district, Rablinghausen district, Rablinghauser Deich 2-4.

history

Building

Use Kark an 'Diek ” (“Our church on the dike”) is what the Rablinghauser call their little dyke church. From 1748 to 1750 the first church in the style of St. Pauli Church in Bremer Neustadt was built according to plans by Grütter as a transept made of bricks in the Baroque style. In 1944 this church was destroyed in the war.

From 1950 to 1951, the hall church was rebuilt in its old form and in 1964/65 extensive renovations. The rectangular building, with six windows with sandstone version on the south side, has a hipped roof and a delicate, octagonal, copper-covered, bulbous ridge turret with a lantern for the bell and with clock and weather vane. The sandstone-walled entrances are in the outer axes of the north side.

graveyard

The cemetery behind the wall of " Use Kark an 'Diek " , Rablinghauser Deich 1, is still occupied. On the side of the cemetery there is a sandstone coat of arms of the mayors and church visitors from the middle of the 18th century.

Monument protection

The church has been a listed building in Bremen since 1973 .

Interior, fittings and organ

Inside

The light interior corresponds to the character from the time it was built as a reformed church.

Furnishing

Some original pieces of equipment have been preserved, such as the Romanesque font made around 1100 from a cloister column of Bremen Cathedral .

The pulpit cage and its stairway contain parapet elements from a Bremen hall around 1750. The gallery was also redesigned.

The altar candlestick and lantern on the right church portal date from the 18th century. The brass chandeliers were cast according to models from the 18th century.

organ

The organ was built in 1965 by Alfred Führer . It has two manuals and 15 stops . The organ prospectus is based on a template from the 18th century.

Parish

The current activities of the parish are u. a .: women's groups, children's groups, handicraft and handicraft groups, guitar groups, flute groups, dance groups and Low German evening.
