The church Siedenbrünzow (until the 19th century Heiliggeistkapelle ) is a church building in Siedenbrünzow in the Mecklenburg Lake District . It belongs to the Protestant parish St. Bartholomaei in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District .

history

The building was erected by the Demminer Heiliggeisthospital, to which the village of Siedenbrünzow was donated in 1278 by Duke Barnim I of Pomerania . After the Reformation was introduced in Pomerania, she came to the parish of Demminer prepositus . The core of the current building was erected in 1646 as a hall church made of field stones , instead of the previous building destroyed in the Thirty Years' War , financed by the preposition of Johannes von Essen . In 1859 the nave was enlarged to make room for more seats and an organ . The church, which was still known as the Chapel of the Holy Spirit in the 19th century , was given a brick west tower with a roof turret . Major changes were made around 1900 and the choir was added.

Furnishing

The church bell was cast in 1650. The organ was built by Nikolaus Fischer in 1861 . It has 9 registers with a manual and a pedal . In 2005 it was restored by Johann-Gottfried Schmidt .
