Völschow Church

The Völschow Church is a church building in the municipality of Völschow . It has been part of the Demmin Propstei in the Pomeranian Evangelical Church District of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany since 2012 . Before that she belonged to the Demmin parish of the Pomeranian Evangelical Church .

From Feldstein built hall church with drawn rectangular choir probably dates from the second half of the 15th century. The nave windows were changed in the 18th century . The windows in the north and south sides of the two- bay choir date from the 19th century. The east gable with aperture over a plaster frieze decorated and a recessed cross.

The west tower was added in 1856 or 1860 and has a transverse rectangular floor plan. Its basement is made of field stone up to the roof ridge of the nave, the upper floor, which is structured with panels, is made of brick . The tower has a pitched roof with skylights that of stepped gables flanked.

The nave has a flat wooden ceiling, the choir has a ribbed vault . The altarpiece , richly carved, is dated around 1700. It contains paintings depicting the Lord's Supper , the crucifixion of Christ , Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane and the offering of the cup of passion. The church stalls and the west gallery were built in 1768.

The organ from Barnim Grüneberg's workshop from 1934 has a rare pneumatic action , nine registers and two manuals. It was restored in 1996.

The ringing consists of a bronze bell from 1919, donated by Pastor Schaeffer at the time.

The churchyard portal, a two-part brick gate, was built in the first half of the 16th century.
