Kirstin Korte (* 2 September 1955 in Hannover ) is a German politician of the CDU in the East Westphalian town of Minden and since May 13, 2012 Member of Parliament for the mill district of Minden-Lübbecke . In doing so, she entered the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament both times via the state list.

Life

Korte graduated from the Caroline-von-Humboldt-Gymnasium in Minden in 1975 , studied law for three years in Kiel and then moved to Bielefeld from 1978 to 1981 as a student teacher. Most recently she worked as a primary school teacher in Minden. Korte is married and has a grown daughter.

politics

Korte has been a member of the Minden-Lübbecke district council since 1999 and deputy district administrator in the Minden-Lübbecke district since 2009. Between 2011 and 2019 she was CDU district chairman in the Minden-Lübbecke district.

In the state elections in 2012 , she lost direct election in the Minden-Lübbecke II state electoral district , but entered the state parliament via position 25 on the CDU state list. In 2017 she was again unable to win the direct mandate, but on June 30, 2017, she succeeded Andrea Milz , who had become State Secretary .

She is the chair of the committee for schools and education of the NRW state parliament.
