The kkStB 493 was a tank locomotive series of the kk state railways , whose locomotives were procured for the Schönbrunn-Witkowitz-Königsberg local railway in Silesia .

history

The two locomotives were delivered in 1911 with the serial numbers 3822 and 3823 by the StEG locomotive factory in Vienna . The machines belonged to the local railway Schönbrunn-Witkowitz-Königsberg , on whose account the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB) ran the operation. They later received the numbers 493.01 and 493.02 from the kkStB.

The two small locomotives had a modern design, but were quite different from all other local railroad locomotives. The low top speed was also noticeable.

After the First World War , they came to the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD), which in 1925 assigned them to the 300.3 series  . With the electrification of their main line, they were retired in 1926 and sold to private customers. The 300,302 was later used by the iron and steel works in Ostrava.
