The Klíčava (German Klitschawa , also Kličawa ) is a left tributary of the Berounka in the Czech Republic .

course

The Klíčava rises in the single layer Třtická Lísa in the Džbán hill country at an altitude of 450 m. ü. M. between the Malý Louštín (526 m. Above sea level) and the Žalý (526 m. Above sea level). On its course, which initially runs in a south-easterly direction, the stream flows south past Nové Strašecí and Šibeňák, where it is dammed in a cascade of three ponds. At Ruda the brook turns south and flows meandering through the Pürglitzer Forest, along its course are Pilská, Zajíčkovna, Brejl, Píně and Klíčava. Between Brejl and the dam wall of the Klíčava dam, the stream crosses the Lánská obora ( Lan Zoo ). The remains of the Prague – Lana horse-drawn tram have been preserved near Píně, and the remains of the Jivno Castle lie on a spur above the reservoir. In Zbečno the Klíčava flows into the Berounka.

To the west of Nové Strašecí, the stream is bridged by the Praha – Chomutov railway line.

The Klíčava has a catchment area of 87.13 km² and a river length of 22.6 kilometers. Its average amount of water in the estuary is 0.5 m³ / s. The largest tributary is the Lánský potok with a length of 7.7 km.
