Klaus Bachlechner (born December 27, 1952 in Bruneck , South Tyrol ) is a former Italian professional footballer . He played a total of 204 league games in the Italian Serie A in the 1970s and 1980s . With Inter Milan he won the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia) in the 1981/82 season .

Athletic career

Bachlechner grew up in Bruneck. His football career began with a trial session with the youth team from Hellas Verona . In the 1971/72 season, Bachlechner moved to Pisa Calcio on loan , where he made his first Serie C games . He played the next two seasons in Verona and contested the first 13 games in Serie A .

1974/75 Bachlechner played again on loan for Novara Calcio . From 1975, three seasons as a regular at Hellas Verona followed. In 1978/79 Bachlechner moved to FC Bologna for another three seasons . He reached his career high point in 1981/82 with a move to Inter Milan . Bachlechner played 20 games for the Milanese; the team around Alessandro Altobelli , Giuseppe Bergomi and Herbert Prohaska won the Italian Cup this season .

In 1982 Bachlechner returned to FC Bologna, where he ended his career in 1984. In his active career, the defender played a total of 204 league games in Serie A (one goal) and 71 second division games (Serie B, 2 goals).

After retirement

After his active football career, Bachlechner returned to Bruneck , where he worked in the tourism industry. His son Thomas Bachlechner (born 1980) also started a football career.
