Eric Bertrand Bailly (born April 12, 1994 in Bingerville ) is an Ivorian football player . The central defender is under contract with Manchester United and is an Ivorian international .

Career

Bailly moved up from youth at Espanyol Barcelona in 2013 and was initially in the second team's squad. For this he made his debut on September 29, 2013 at 2: 1 victory at home to Levante UD B . In January 2015, coach Hervé Renard appointed him to the Ivorian squad for the African Championship . He played in all six of his team's games and became African champion on February 8, 2015 with a final win on penalties against Ghana .

At the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon , Bailly was also part of the Ivorian squad . The team retired as defending champions with two points from the tournament.
