Andreas Hugo Hoelgebaum Pereira (born January 1, 1996 in Duffel ) is a Brazilian - Belgian football player who has been under contract with Manchester United since January 1, 2012 .

Career

Born and raised in Belgium as the son of the Brazilian soccer player Marcos Pereira (* 1975) and a German-born Belgian mother, Pereira began his career in the youth teams of the Belgian club Lommel United , an ex-club of his father. In 2005, at the age of nine, he moved to the youth academy of the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven , about 31 kilometers away , where he also held the position of captain. On January 1, 2012, Pereira moved to Manchester United's youth academy on his 16th birthday .

For the 2014/15 season, Pereira moved up to the first team squad. He made his debut under coach Louis van Gaal when he was substituted on for Saidy Janko in the 4-0 loss in the League Cup against the Milton Keynes Dons in the second half . On March 15, 2015, Pereira made his Premier League debut when he came on for Juan Mata in the 77th minute of the 3-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Matchday 29 . On May 1, 2015, Pereira extended his end-of-season contract to June 30, 2018.

In August 2016 he was sent to Spain at the Granada CF awarded. After his brief return to Manchester, he was awarded again and played for Valencia CF from September 1, 2017 .

National team

Pereira began his national team career in Belgium's youth teams. He has been playing for Brazil's U-20 team since 2014 . With her he won the Panda Cup in 2014 and was runner-up at the U-20 World Cup in New Zealand in 2015 .

On August 17, 2018, Pereira was appointed to the squad of the Brazilian national team by coach Tite for the friendly games against the USA on September 7, 2018 and against El Salvador in the United States on September 11, 2018 . In the game against El Salvador, Pereira played his first appearance for the A-selection. He came on for Arthur in the 70th minute , making him the first national player born outside of Brazil in 100 years.
