Mason Greenwood (born October 1, 2001 in Bradford ) is an English football player who plays as a forward for Manchester United .

Career

Greenwood began his career as a central midfielder but gradually developed into a center forward. In 2018 he was the top scorer in the U18 Premier League North, although at that time he would still have been eligible to play for the Manchester United U16.

Greenwood did some of its preparation for the 2018/19 season with José Mourinho's first team . In addition to appearances in the U18 and UEFA Youth League , he was also used in the U23. In October 2018, Greenwood received its first professional contract. On March 6, 2019, he made his debut in the first team under Ole Gunnar Solskjær when he was substituted on in the 3-1 win against Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 just before the end of the game. At the age of 17 years and 156 days, Greenwood became the second youngest player for Manchester United in the European Cup after Norman Whiteside . He made his Premier League debut four days later . By the end of the season, two more missions followed (one of them in the starting line-up) in the top English division. In addition, he came to 13 appearances in the U18 Premier League, in which he scored 15 goals, and 6 appearances for the U23 in the Premier League 2 , in which he scored three goals.

Greenwood scored his first Premier League goal on November 24, 2019, a 3-3 at Sheffield United . During the 2019/20 season , he became an important player, scoring 10 goals in 31 league games.
