Aaron Wan-Bissaka (born November 26, 1997 in Croydon , London ) is an English football player . The full-back is a product of the youth academy of the capital club Crystal Palace , where he made his breakthrough in the first team in the 2018/19 season . He has been under contract with Manchester United since July 2019 .

Club career

Crystal Palace

Born in Croydon , London , Wan-Bissaka entered the youth academy of the capital city Crystal Palace at the age of 11 . He was part of the first team in a number of friendly matches in the summer of 2017, but was only the third option in legal defense behind veteran Martin Kelly and Manchester United loanee Timothy Fosu-Mensah . After a series of injuries shook Palace's back line in February 2018 and Fosu-Mensah had to move into central defense , Wan-Bissaka was given the chance to debut in the first team. In the 0-1 home defeat by Tottenham Hotspur on February 25, 2018, he stood for the full season and was then praised for his work. He also drew attention to himself with strong performances in the following games against Manchester United and Chelsea . In his first full month on the professional team, he was immediately named Player of the Month for March .

In his second season 2018/19 he was already a regular player in the defense of the Eagles and played a total of 36 games. His strong performances brought him the club's internal Player of the Year award at the end of the season.

Manchester United

On June 29th, Aaron Wan-Bissaka signed a five-year contract with league rivals Manchester United after weeks of rumors of change . Crystal Palace received 50 million euros as a transfer, which can be increased by 5.5 million euros through any bonus payments. From the start of the 2019/20 season, he was one of the key players in head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjær's team .

National team

Wan-Bissaka is of Congolese descent and made his debut for the Congo U-20s on October 7, 2015 . His use in the 8-0 defeat against the English U-17 selection remained his only one for the Central African state. However, he was still eligible to play for his native England. After his strong performances in the Crystal Palace jersey, the English Football Association noticed him and he was nominated for the England U-20 national team in March 2018 . In his debut against Poland on March 22, 2018, Wan-Bissaka was sent off in the 77th minute of the game. England won the game 1-0 anyway.

On September 6, he made his debut in a 0-0 draw against the Netherlands for the English U-21 team
