Saidy Janko (born October 22, 1995 in Zurich ) is a Swiss football player who also has Gambian and Italian citizenship . He has been under contract with FC Porto since 2018 and is primarily used as a right full -back.

Career

Janko joined the youth team at FC Zurich as a ten-year-old . There he came in the second team in the third class 1st division promotion to his first assignments in the men's area.
On August 31, 2013, Janko moved to the youth department of Manchester United for around one million Swiss francs on the last day of the transfer window after being noticed by the scouts at the Blue Stars / FIFA Youth Cup . There he was used in the U-18s, U-21s and the UEFA Youth League . In his first season, Janko was named Reserve Player of the Year. For the 2014/15 season, Janko moved up to the squad of the first team. He made his debut on August 26, 2014 in the 4-0 defeat in the League Cup against Milton Keynes Dons under coach Louis van Gaal over 45 minutes before he was replaced by Andreas Pereira in the second half .
On February 2, 2015 Janko - in exchange with Andy Kellett - was loaned to the Bolton Wanderers in the Football League Championship until the end of the 2014/15 season. On February 10, 2015, he made his debut in a 3-1 win over Fulham FC in the second-highest English division. In his first game for Bolton Wanderers, he scored the interim 2-1 in the 80th minute with a remarkable goal. By the end of the season, Janko had nine more missions.
For the 2015/16 season Janko did not return to Manchester, but switched to the Scottish Premiership at Celtic Glasgow . He received a four-year contract until June 30, 2019. In the 2015/16 season he was Scottish Champion with Celtic . Janko completed ten league games. In August 2016 it was awarded to Barnsley FC . In June 2017 he moved to France to AS Saint-Étienne .
