Christopher Martins Pereira (born February 19, 1997 ) is a Luxembourg soccer player and current national player.

Career

Christopher Martins Pereira started playing football in the youth department of FC Rodange 91 and moved on to RFC Union Luxembourg . In the summer of 2013 he went to the Youth Academy of Olympique Lyon . In 2014 he was French champion with the U-17. At the age of 16, he played eight games for RFC Union Luxembourg in the BGL Ligue in the 2012/13 season . Parallel to the youth games, he has also been used regularly for the B-team of Olympique Lyon since 2014.

On September 10, 2017, he made his first appearance in Ligue 1 in the home game against EA Guingamp and number two followed a week later in the away game at Paris Saint-Germain .

In mid-October, the club then announced that it would loan Martins Pereira to the second division club FC Bourg-Péronnas with immediate effect until the end of the season . On August 29, 2018, he was awarded again for one season, this time to ES Troyes AC in Ligue 2 .

For the 2019/20 season , the midfielder signed a four-year contract with Swiss champions BSC Young Boys from Bern . But due to a pubic bone injury, he missed almost three months of the first half of the season and only made seven league games. Nevertheless, at the end of the season he made 22 games (2 goals) and was able to win the cup with the club in addition to the championship.

National team

In addition to appearances for the Luxembourg U-17, U-19 and U-21, Martins Perreira can also boast appearances for the senior national team . For this he has so far played 38 international matches, in which he scored a goal in the Nations League at home against Moldova (4-0) on September 8, 2018 .
