Sandro Lauper (born October 25, 1996 in Oberdiessbach ) is a Swiss football player . The midfielder has been under contract with BSC Young Boys since July 1, 2018 and is a former Swiss U-21 international .
Career
society
During his youth, Sandro Lauper played at FC Konolfingen and in 2007 moved to the youth department of BSC Young Boys . There he went through all stages until he switched to the second team in 2014. Eligible to play in the first division , Lauper made two appearances in the 2014/15 season. In the same season he decided to move to the U-21s of FC Thun , which at that time was playing interregionally in the 2nd division. He came on four missions and scored one goal.
On the 2nd match day of the 2015/16 season he was called up to the first team, where he made his debut in the Super League in a 2-3 away win against FC Lugano . In the 69th minute he was substituted on for Lotem Zino. In the first half of the season he was also taken into the squad a few times, but no longer used. After the winter break, he then moved to the first team and subsequently played in the first three games of the second half of the season. In February 2016, Lauper injured himself and tore the inner ligament on his left ankle. At the beginning of April of the same year he made his debut in the U21 team after his injury. In the two following seasons, Lauper finally became an integral part of the first team and came to another 59 missions in which he scored four goals.
For the 2018/19 season, Lauper switched back to his youth club, the BSC Young Boys , where he signed a four-year contract until June 2022. He made his debut on matchday one in a 2-0 win against Grasshopper Club Zurich , when he came on for Roger Assalé in the 81st minute .
National team
Lauper began his career as a national player for the Swiss U-20 national team on September 1, 2016 in the international match against Poland , where he played as a right central defender for 90 minutes. Since November 2016 he has been part of the Swiss U-21 national team , where he will also be involved in qualifying for the 2019 U-21 European Football Championship .
