Klaus D. Hildemann

Klaus D. Hildemann (* 1942 in Kappeln ) is a German Protestant theologian and diaconal scholar .

Hildemann studied Protestant theology in Kiel and Basel , and was ordained in 1969 in Schleswig . In addition to his first pastor's office in Munkbrarup near Flensburg , which he held until 1973, he studied education , philosophy, sociology and psychology and received his doctorate in 1976.

After heading the specialist school for curative educators at the Alsterdorfer Anstalten in Hamburg, Hildemann was appointed Managing Director of the Theodor Fliedner Foundation in Mülheim an der Ruhr on September 20, 1981 , where he worked until April 2011. After German reunification, he also built the Theodor Fliedner works in Saxony and Brandenburg . His academic career began in 1982 with teaching assignments at the Ruhr University in Bochum and at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn .

In the winter semester of 1996 he was appointed honorary professor for practical theology and diaconal studies by the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Bonn . There he set up the Institute for Interdisciplinary and Applied Diaconal Studies, which in 2001 launched a master's degree in “Social Management”. Hildemann heads the institute as director.

Hildemann's publications focus on voluntary welfare , the future of the welfare state and the management of social enterprises. In 2004 he was awarded the Johann Hinrich Wichern Prize for his services in the cybernetic field and his commitment to diaconal studies. In 2010 he received the coat of arms of the community of Hohndorf / Saxony.
