Klaus Dauven
Klaus Dauven (born June 6, 1966 in Düren ) is a German art teacher , freelance artist and teacher at the Langerwehe comprehensive school .
life and work
Klaus Dauven studied among others at the Dusseldorf Art Academy in Klaus Rinke , at the Academy of Art Münster at Joachim Bandau and was a master student of Ingrid Roscheck and Gunther Keusen . He was a visiting student at the École des Beaux-Arts in Aix-en-Provence and at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Kasterlee .
The peculiarity of his work is that he does not work with adding something to something (paint on canvas, clay on plastic), but only removes it to create pictures. Klaus Dauven is a teacher and among other things teaches French and art at the Langerwehe Comprehensive School .
In 2007 he worked on the dam of the Oleftalsperre with high-pressure cleaners in such a way that a gigantic picture was created. At the Matsudagawa Dam near the Japanese city of Ashikaga , he created the “Hanazakari” work in 2008 using high-pressure cleaners.
In 2012 Dauven created the monumental panorama drawing "Fish Empire" at the Eibenstock dam in the Ore Mountains. The “canvas” was 307.5 m wide and 57 m high. Another work of art was executed in Korea for 2012. On July 13, 2013, he drew several ears of corn on the concrete silo in Vettweiß as part of the district culture days. Dauven outlined a reverse graffiti by the writer B. Traven in May 2014 on a barn wall in Simonskall , opposite the Kremer mill, where B. Traven and his family found refuge under the pseudonym Ret Marut after fleeing Munich.
Dauven lives with his family in Boich near Kreuzau .
