Klaus Ponto

Klaus Ponto (* 1927 in Dresden ; † 1985 ) was a German actor and radio play speaker .

Life

Klaus Ponto was the son of the well-known theater and film actor Erich Ponto and also pursued a career in theater. He mostly took on supporting roles in the theater, but in some well-received performances. This included, among other things, the world premiere of Brecht's play Der Aufhaltsame Aufstieg des Arturo Ui in 1958 at the Stuttgart State Theater. He played the nephew in Brecht's play The Good Man of Sezuan , and he also had a stage appearance in a play by Carl Zuckmayer .

In addition, he could also be heard in radio and commercial radio plays for years , including as a runner in an early radio adaptation of the radio station Radio Stuttgart (today Südwestrundfunk (SWR)) from 1948 by Fontanes Unterm Birnbaum , which also did the 2003 and 2006 have been published on CD. In 1958 he acted as a speaker in the radio play Man does not play with love according to Alfred de Musset , which was produced by SWR. In 1950 he had the role of the other and the announcer Daventry in Malmgreen by Walter Erich Schäfer in a radio play production by SDR .

Ponto's son Manoel Ponto (1949–1996), who died early in 1996 and was named after the Manolo Theater in Madrid , was also an actor.
