Klaus Rehkämper

Klaus Rehkämper (born August 1, 1957 ; † November 22, 2015 in Berlin ) was a German philosopher and university professor .

Life

Klaus Rehkämper studied philosophy , history , education and mathematics at the University of Düsseldorf . In 1991 he received his doctorate in philosophy from the University of Hamburg . From 1991 to 1992 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Graduate School in Cognitive Science and then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Philosophy at the University of Oldenburg , where he qualified as a professor in 2000. From 2001 to 2002 Rehkämper was visiting professor at the Humboldt Study Center for Philosophy and Humanities at Ulm University and since 2003 an adjunct professor in Oldenburg. Most recently, he was head of a department at the Berlin-Brandenburg Statistics Office. On November 22nd, 2015, Klaus Rehkämper died in Berlin's Charité after a long and serious illness .

Focus

Klaus Rehkämper's research focuses on the analytical philosophy of language, cognitive science, the philosophy of perception and pictorial representations as well as the interaction of images and language.
