Klaus Sachs-Hombach

Klaus Sachs-Hombach (born December 2, 1957 in Hattingen / Ruhr ) is professor for media studies at the University of Tübingen . His main research interests are philosophical image theories ( image science ), semiotics , communication theory , cultural philosophy , media theory . In addition , philosophy of science , philosophical problems in psychology and cognitive science , history of philosophy, especially of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Life

Sachs-Hombach received his doctorate in philosophy at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster in 1990 , then worked as a research assistant at the University of Magdeburg . He was visiting the Subfaculty of Philosophy at Oxford University (1991) and MIT (1992). After completing his habilitation in 2003, he was employed as a senior scientific assistant at the Institute for Simulation and Graphics at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg . From 2007 he was professor of philosophy with a focus on cognitive science at the TU Chemnitz . In October 2011 he was appointed to a professorship for media studies (focus on media innovation / media change) at the University of Tübingen .
