Klaus Stiller

Klaus Stiller (born April 15, 1941 in Augsburg ) is a German writer .

Life

Klaus Stiller is the son of a doctor. He attended the Realgymnasium Augsburg and graduated from high school in 1961 in Lauingen / Donau . From 1961 to 1968 studied he German and Romance studies in Munich , Grenoble and Berlin . In 1963/64 he was a participant in the circle around Walter Höllerer at the Literary Colloquium Berlin . After completing his studies, Stiller was a freelance writer and contributed to literary magazines and radio stations. In 1971 he was an editor at Melzer Verlag for a short time ; from 1981 he was literary editor at the Berlin RIAS .

Klaus Stiller is one of the main representatives of the German-language documentary literature of the 1970s. His experimental, often satirical texts are concerned with social criticism through language criticism . In addition to his prose works, Stiller has also written radio plays and numerous radio features .

Klaus Stiller, who is a member of the PEN Center Germany, was awarded the Hermann Hesse Prize in 1977 .
