Klaus Wolf (Germanist)

Klaus Wolf (born August 3, 1965 in Augsburg ) is a German German studies professor and professor of German Medieval Studies (German language and literature in the Middle Ages ) at the University of Augsburg and a scientific journalist .

biography

After Wolf had passed the Abitur at the Deutschherren-Gymnasium in Aichach in 1985 , he studied German studies with Catholic theology as a minor in his native Augsburg until 1993 after completing his military service . He completed his studies with the state examination.

From 1994 to 1998 he worked as a research assistant under Johannes Janota (* 1938) at the Chair for German Literature and Language of the Middle Ages at the University of Augsburg . In 1998 received his doctorate wolf with a dissertation , with summa cum laude was assessed philosophiæ to the doctor. His doctoral thesis was entitled Commentary on the Frankfurt Conducting Role and the Frankfurt Passion Play and in 1999 earned him the University Prize of the Augsburg University Foundation. On February 9, 2005, he obtained his habilitation in Medieval Studies with the habilitation thesis Hof - Universität - Laien. Studies of literary and linguistic history on the German literature of the Vienna School of the late Middle Ages . Since then, Wolf has also worked as a research assistant in the literature project of the Vienna School , which was funded by the German Research Foundation. Wolf worked as a substitute professor at the universities of Augsburg ( WS 2006/07), Würzberg ( SS 2007, WS 2009/10) and Cologne ( SS 2009).

In 2010 he followed a call to the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and became W2 - university lecturer at the German Department . On October 1, 2012, he returned to the University of Augsburg as a W2 teaching professor for German literature and language of the Middle Ages and the early modern period with a focus on Bavaria .

Wolf is married and has two children.
