coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved on May 25, 1974.
Blazon : "In red a silver crook, the shaft of which has broken off, over a silver wavy bar in the base of the shield."
The central figure of the coat of arms, the broken crook, points back to the past of the place, which has remained tangible up to the present. "Niclaustorp" was first mentioned in a document in 1233. The village was one of the first possessions of the Preetz Benedictine convent, founded in 1211. In a register from 1286 it is attested as a monastic property. Even after the Reformation, the monastery, now as a noble women's monastery, kept the place along with its other possessions. It still owned land in Klausdorf until 1920. The almost 700-year rule of the monastery is represented in today's municipal coat of arms by the crook; its end illustrates its broken shaft. The location on the Schwentine is expressed by the wave bar. The Holstein colors red and silver indicate that the place belongs to this part of the country.
The coat of arms was designed by the Brunsbüttel heraldist Willy "Horsa" Lippert .

The flag was approved on August 9, 1979.
