history

The fishing village was first mentioned in 1184. At the beginning of the 18th century, Swedish troops built the hill near Klein Zicker on a hill north of the village , from which remains of the ramparts have survived. Swedish plans from the beginning of the 19th century to build the port city of Gustavia on the small peninsula were not implemented.

In 1933 Klein Zicker had 108 inhabitants, in 1939 121 were counted. The local researcher Willy Dumrath worked out a chronicle of Klein Zicker.

During the GDR era, there was a Soviet army base northwest of the village . The area was later renatured.

On July 1, 1950, Klein Zicker was incorporated into the then independent municipality of Thießow (then spelling).

What is unusual for the region, which is otherwise heavily influenced by tourism, is that fishing is still of considerable importance in Klein Zicker. In the village there are also restaurants and hotels on a smaller scale.
