The Kleine Köllnsee is a small natural lake in the natural area of the Neustrelitz Kleinseenland and in the Uckermärkische Seen nature park in the Uckermark district ( Brandenburg ). It is located in the district of Retzow , a district of the city of Lychen .

Geographical location and hydrography

The small lake has the shape of a strongly rounded triangle. It has a maximum length of 140 m and a width of approx. 100 m. The lake level is 61 m above sea level. The border between Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Brandenburg draws from the southwest towards the western end of the lake, along the river to the Kleiner Brückentinsee , which still belongs to Brandenburg, and from there along the river to the Großer Brückentinsee and a piece along its eastern shore; the Große Brückentinsee is otherwise completely in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The lake is completely in the forest and cannot be reached via paths.

history

The lake was first mentioned in a document as early as 1299 (as "Lutke Kelle"); it was part of the initial equipment of the Himmelpfort monastery . The name is derived from mnd. ladle = large ladle, after the rounded shape of the lake. The addition small was created to distinguish it from the slightly larger Großer Köllnsee , which is only 170 m east of it.
