Tamási small area
The Tamási small area ( Hungarian Tamási kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) within Tolna County in southern Transdanubia until the end of 2012 . As part of the administrative reform, the Tamási District ( Tamási járás in Hungarian ) was created in early 2013 from all 32 villages in the small area .
At the end of 2012 there were 38,795 inhabitants in an area of 1,019.94 km². With a population density of 38 inhabitants / km², the small area had the lowest in the county.
Besides the administrative seat in Tamási (8,345 inhabitants) there were two other cities: Simontornya (4,128 inhabitants) and Gyönk (2,091 inhabitants).
Hőgyész (2,904 Ew.) And Pincehely (2,288 Ew.) Were large communities (Hungarian nagyközség ).
