Ozora is a municipality in the Tamási suburb in Tolna County in Hungary . The population is almost 1,600 (as of 2011).
history
The first written mention of the place can be found in a document of the Bishop of Pécs from the year 1009. Pipo von Ozora had a castle built here in 1416 with the permission of Sigismund of Hungary . The building is square in shape, has two floors and a large inner courtyard. The dimensions of the main building are 35 by 35 meters, those of the inner courtyard 17 by 17 meters. In 1491 the castle was badly damaged, but restored by Ferenc Héderváry in 1520. In 1848 the Hungarian general Artúr Görgey scored a major victory in Ozora during the revolution .
In 2002 the Hungarian director György Pálfi shot his film Hukkle in Ozora with local residents as amateur actors. The Psychedelic Trance Festival Ozora Festival has been taking place every year near Ozora since 2004 .
