Kleinsaara is a district of Saara in the Greiz district in Thuringia .

Kleinsaara is located not far to the west of Großsaara and the city of Gera as well as on state road 1076 towards Hermsdorfer Kreuz .
history
The village was first mentioned on September 4, 1533. The owners of the existing manor (1611–1861) in Großsaara also managed the manor from Kleinsaara. In 1789, the Reuss-Gera sovereignty acquired both properties . During the GDR era, the estate was nationalized.
On July 1, 1950, Kleinsaara was merged with Geißen and Großsaara to form the new municipality of Saara.
