Small part with Giswilerstock

Kleinteil is a district of the municipality of Giswil in the canton of Obwalden .

geography

Kleinteil is located in the southwestern part of the municipality of Giswil between the Altibach and Lauibach streams at the northeastern foot of the Giswilerstock . To the north, on the other side of the Lauibach , lies the district of Grossteil , to the east are Rudenz and Diechtersmatt . Kleinteil is not an administratively or politically delimited unit from Giswil, so the boundaries are not precisely defined. In the narrower sense, small part consists of a closed built-up area. However, this is continued in individual buildings, mostly farms, which are initially only a short distance from one another around the town center.

The Wissibächli flows through the middle of Kleinteil. This caused a local flood event in late June and mid-August 2011 after heavy rainfall. In small parts, there was damage to buildings and infrastructure. The end of 2011 was therefore the Eindolung open the stream in the upper part. The channel was developed as a predatory channel with a step-basin structure. Further up, blocks with pronounced ramps and basins were formed up to the panorama street. The sole width was widened to two meters along the entire length. The channel is thus dimensioned for a pure water discharge in the upper area of 4.5 m³ / s and in the lower area of 7 m³ / s, which is sufficient for a 30-year event.

history

Kleinteil was the center of the Giswil community until the church fell in 1629. In 1607 a first chapel was built for the most part, but only because the way to the parish church was dangerous in the small part. Already in 1429 there were signs of independence for large and small parts. Documents mention two corporations “part rütihalb” and “part kilchehalb”.

Attractions

A historic hiking trail runs through Kleinteil and the Rudenz district and leads to many historic buildings. The remains of the Rosenberg castle ruins stand between the chapel and the Hotel Alpenrösli. The flail saw from 1877 was rebuilt in 2002 and is therefore probably the only operational saw of its kind in Switzerland. The Kleinteil chapel was built between 1664 and 1667 and consecrated in 1684. It is dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua . The chapel has a simple, partly baroque interior.

Transport links

The panorama road leads through Kleinteil, coming from Rudenz with a gradient of up to 12%, past the Mörlialp ski area, over the 1611 m high Glaubbielenpass via Sörenberg into Entlebuch to Schüpfheim . The pass road is closed in winter.

From the Giswil train station, a post bus runs along the panorama road to Schüpfheim. The Postbus also stops in Kleinteil at the Kleinteil-Post stop. The Giswil train station of the Zentralbahn is about 3 kilometers from Kleinteil . This provides a connection to the route to Lucerne and Meiringen . For the Brünigbahn, the cogwheel-supported route to Kaiserstuhl OW and on to Lungern and the Brünig Pass begins immediately south of Giswil station .

Others

A little above Kleinteil there is a cemetery for tree burials .
