The Kleinwalsertaler Bahn AG (KBB) is a shareholder or operator of five important tourist cable cars and numerous ski lifts in the Allgäu Alps on the Austrian and German territory. The company is based in Riezlern in the Austrian Kleinwalsertal (state of Vorarlberg ).
The group of companies employs (after the takeover of Ifen Bergbahn) around 330 people. The board of directors of KBB is Andreas Gapp and Johannes Krieg, who also act as managing directors of Fellhornbahn GmbH.
history
The Kleinwalsertaler Bergbahn AG was created in 1969 by renaming from the Kanzelwandbahn AG, which had existed since March 6, 1954. The founding shareholders of Kanzelwandbahn AG were:
- Riezlern power station: 38.4%
- Allgäuer Überlandwerk: 15.4%
- Mittelberg community: 23.1%
- 41 small shareholders: together 23.1%
The main shareholders of KBB today (2009) are Allgäuer Überlandwerk GmbH from Kempten with a stake of 51% and Raiffeisen Holding Kleinwalsertal eGen from Hirschegg (which also majority owned by Raiffeisenbank Kleinwalsertal AG ) with a stake of 45%.

- Ifen Bergbahn (100%): the mountain railway at Hohen Ifen , established in the 1970s, was for a long time majority owned by Ruth Merckle , the wife of pharmaceutical entrepreneur Adolf Merckle . By taking over the 82% share of the Merckle family and the 18% share of the family of the Kleinwalsertal tourism pioneer Alfons Herz, Ifen Bergbahn GmbH u. Co since July 1, 2009 completely to KBB.

Lifts
In the ski and snowboard areas of Kanzelwand, Fellhorn, Walmendingerhorn, Nebelhorn and Ifen, KBB is involved in almost 20 lift operating companies. The Kanzelwand / Fellhorn and Nebelhorn ski areas are equipped with snow-making systems, and another system is planned for a system on the Ifen.
