KlimaKreis Cologne
The KlimaKreis Köln is a body promoting regional climate protection projects in the Cologne area and is unique in its kind in Germany.
The alliance was founded in 2009 and currently consists of representatives from 21 regional institutions. The chairman of the KlimaKreis Köln is Marc Oliver Bettzüge , the managing directors of the KlimaKreis Köln GmbH are Erich Hölter and Matthias Dienhart. KlimaKreis Köln GmbH is a subsidiary of KölnTech Gesellschaft für angewandte Forschung mbH, the transfer company of the Cologne University of Applied Sciences .

The RheinEnergie AG provides "Energy & Climate 2020" over a period of five years, a total of five million euros for the air conditioning circuit Cologne as part of its climate change program. With regard to the projects to be funded, RheinEnergie AG is committed to the vote of the members of the Cologne Climate Circle.
activities
The KlimaKreis Köln supports exemplary projects for the sustainable use of energy as a resource and for climate protection . Private individuals, companies and legal entities from the Cologne region and, in individual cases, from outside the region are eligible for funding. The project applications are checked for their fundamental eligibility by independent experts. Relevant criteria for the selection of projects are: feasibility and risk, degree of innovation, economy and profitability as well as the ecological effect to strengthen sustainable development.
