The Kohrener Land describes the landscape and tourist region around Kohren-Sahlis in the south of the Leipzig district . This includes above all the city of Frohburg , but also Geithain . Nature and handicrafts are the main tourist attractions. Above all, the pottery , but also the blue printing are traditionally rooted.

The Kohrener Land lies in the south of the Leipzig lowland bay in front of the Saxon hill country. The places in the region are in the countryside. There are around 600 hectares of forest in the landscape. The largest forest area is the Streitwald between Kohren-Sahlis and Frohburg. The best-known rivers in the region are, besides the Wyhra, the cat , rat and mouse streams . The Kohren-Sahlis district of Altmörbitz is located on the Schömbach dam , through which the state border with Thuringia runs.

Tourism is an important source of income. The “Kohrener Land” tourism association was founded for this purpose.
