Grand Ossa

Ossa

The name Großossa is documented around 1378 as "Ozze magnum" or "Osse major". Already in 1269 there was a manor house, around 1551 a manor. The village, later only called Ossa, was until 1856 in the electoral or royal Saxon office of Rochlitz .

Bruchheim

In 1299 a "Henricus de Bruch" is mentioned. In 1548 the place in the Rochlitz office was partly subordinate to the council of Penig , the council of Geithain and the manor Gnandstein . In 1764 the part belonging to the Rochlitz office was Amtsdorf, while the part belonging to the Borna office as an exclave was under the jurisdiction of the Syhra manor .

Kolka

Kolka is mentioned in 1378 as "Kulkow prope Ozze, Kulkaw". The place was under the jurisdiction of the manor Ossa in the Rochlitz office around 1551. In 1764 part of the village belonged to the Syhra manor in the Borna office, but from 1816 only the Rochlitz office is mentioned as a higher-level administrative unit.

Wenigossa

The name Wenigossa is documented around 1378 as "Ozze parvum" or "Osse minor". Around 1548 he belonged to the Rochlitz office like Grossossa. However, in 1551 it belonged to the Gnandstein manor and around 1696 to the Syhra manor in the Borna district.

Niederpickenhain

Niederpickenhain, like Oberpickenhain, was divided between the offices of Borna and Rochlitz until 1856 in terms of administration. The Sahlis manor held jurisdiction over the Borna part of Niederpickenhain, and the Ossa manor over the Rochlitz part.

Common history from 1856

From 1856 (Groß-) Ossa, Bruchheim, Kolka, Wenigossa and Niederpickenhain belonged to the Geithain court office and from 1875 to the Borna district administration .

On April 1, 1935 Niederpickenhain was incorporated into Wenigossa. Wenigossa with Niederpickenhain was incorporated into Ossa on October 1, 1948, together with Bruchheim and Kolka. During the second district reform of the GDR in 1952, Ossa and its four districts were assigned to the Geithain district in the Leipzig district , which was added to the Leipziger Land district in 1994 . On October 1, 1996, Ossa merged with Rathendorf and Narsdorf to form the new Narsdorf community, which was incorporated into Geithain on July 1, 2017.
