Altdorf is a district of the city of Geithain in the district of Leipzig (Free State of Saxony ). It was incorporated on April 1, 1934.

Altdorf lies west of Geithain an der Eula . The development merges seamlessly into Geithain in the east. The federal highway 107 runs through Altdorf .

history
Altdorf was mentioned in 1209 as "in veteri villa". The basic rule of the place practiced in 1548 in part from the parish and the Council to Geithain. From 1590 to 1856 Altdorf belonged as an administrative village to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Rochlitz . The offices were dissolved during the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony in the 19th century . As a result, Altdorf came under the administration of the Geithain court office in 1856, and in 1875 under the newly established Borna District Administration .
The community Altdorf was incorporated into Geithain on April 1, 1934. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, Altdorf was incorporated into the Geithain district in the Leipzig district as part of the town of Geithain . This was continued from 1990 as the Saxon district of Geithain , which was merged in 1994 in the newly formed district of Leipziger Land and in 2008 in the district of Leipzig.
