The 1st Yugoslav Football League 1936/37 was the 14th season of the highest Yugoslav division in men's football . It began on September 13, 1936 and ended on May 30, 1937.
Champion became defending champion HŠK Građanski Zagreb .
mode
After a meeting in August 1936, the format for the following season was decided with 296: 263 votes. The league mode with 10 clubs was determined for the championship. Three representatives from the Belgrade region, three from Zagreb and one from Split. The other three starting places were assigned based on the results of the previous championships, with one (Slavija Osijek) only qualifying after elimination matches.
The ten teams played against each other twice on a total of 18 match days, divided into a first half and a second half. The last one relegated to the Druga zona and was replaced in the following season by the winner of the qualification.
