The 1st Yugoslav Football League 1955/56 was the 27th season of the highest Yugoslav division in men's football . It began on August 21, 1955 and ended on June 9, 1956.

The FK Red Star Belgrade was Yugoslav champions for the third time and took part in the European Cup.
