The 1st Yugoslav Football League in 1923 was the first season of the highest Yugoslav division in men's football . It began on September 2, 1923 and ended on October 1, 1923.

Master became HŠK Građanski Zagreb .

The champions of the regional elimination bouts met in September 1923 to determine the two finalists in a knockout system . The first Yugoslav final did not find a winner at first, as HŠK Građanski Zagreb and SAŠK Sarajevo separated with 1: 1. Only in the replay could Graanski prevail with 4-2.

It was not until 1927 before a championship was established in the league system. Furthermore, the champions of the regional classes played for the title.
